India will arrive in Bangladesh on December 1 for three ODIs and two tests. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the tour schedule on Thursday, with Dhaka to host three ODIs and one test, while Chattogram will host a solitary test.
The tour kicks off with the ODI series to be played in Dhaka on December 4, 7 and 10. The touring company will then move to Chattogram to play the first Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium from December 14-18, after which the Test series will conclude in Dhaka and will be played between December 22-26. India will leave Bangladesh on Dec 27.
BCB chairman Nazmul Hassan said he expects tight matches between the two sides in December.
“The matches between Bangladesh and India in recent history have given us some epic matches and fans from both countries are eagerly awaiting another memorable series,” said Hassan. “I thank the Board of Trustees for Cricket in India for their close cooperation with the BCB in confirming the schedule. We look forward to welcoming the Indian team to Bangladesh.”
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah acknowledged that the battle between India and Bangladesh has become quite close in recent years. “I wish the Bangladesh Cricket Board my best wishes for the upcoming bilateral series on India,” he said. “The India-Bangladesh matches are attracting huge fan interest thanks to the huge fan following the two teams.
“We know how passionate the fans are in Bangladesh and I am sure they will be treated to some exciting matches in both white and red cricket. With the crucial points of the World Testing Championship at stake, the two test matches are very important and both teams will go hard for the win,” said Shah.
