Manchester City are planning their first break from England in three years by going to America in the summer.

Sports post understands that City is currently finalizing a pre-season trip to the United States in July, with the trip expected to last about a week.

Traditional tours were scrapped during the height of the pandemic and City have not trained outside their home since moving to Asia in 2019.

Pep Guardiola chose to stay in Manchester last summer, playing three friendlies against Championship opposition at the club’s Academy Stadium, while other teams in Europe traveled abroad.

City had organized a warm-weather training camp to Abu Dhabi in January, but that was canceled due to Covid.

However, they are set to leave in the summer, and City are set to schedule two friendlies in America in July.

Texas is one of the destinations where Phil Foden first performed when City played Manchester United in Houston as part of the 2017 International Champions Cup.

City’s route could depend on this season’s outcome, with the Community Shield slated for the weekend of July 30.

They can discuss a longer stay in America if the team is not involved with the curtains.
