Saturnalia, An Indie Horror With An Art Style You Have To See, Captures October Release Date

Saturnalia is an upcoming survival horror game with an extremely unique art style that was announced last month. Now we know when we can play it because Saturnalia has set a release date of October 27.

That’s when it will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (via the Epic Games Store). Saturnalia, developed by Italy-based studio Santa Ragione, the team behind games like Fotonica, MirrorMoon EP and Wheels of Aurelia, promises to be a great time. You can find out below why we’ve included the New Gameplay Today segment that’s all about Saturnalia, with over 15 minutes of gameplay:

“[Saturnalia] is a kaleidoscopic adventure inspired in equal parts by authentic Sardinian folklore and classic Italian Giallo horror movies,” reads a press release. “The story is about a mysterious, ancient ritual that takes place every year on the night of the winter solstice in the Italian village of Gravoi. Each of the game’s four playable characters must use their unique abilities and face their own personal revelations to uncover the secrets that haunt the city and ultimately escape their doom.”

Here are some additional Saturnalia highlights from Santa Ragione:

  • Look for clues in a maze-like village with no markings or compass to guide your steps.
  • Explore the ever-changing city of Gravoi using matches to keep the dark at bay.
  • Flight and stealth are your only options, because you can’t fight the creature that hunts you.
  • Immerse yourself in the stop motion animation and vibrant expressionist art style from Saturnalia for an eerily beautiful atmosphere that is as captivating as it is hair-raising.
  • Control your destiny through nonlinear progression and a dynamic, adaptive storywith unique endgames that depend on the player’s choices.

Saturnalia comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Switch and PC on October 27 via the Epic Games Store.
